Description:
£40 ono, collection ONLY.
TANK
This is a secondhand Clearseal - 30 x 38 x 75 cm (approx 85 litres, 18.7 UK gallons), approx 2 and a half foot tank.
The sealant has a little staining (I assume from some sort of meds) - it had this when I bought it (ages ago) and although this has not affected fish or snails this may mean the tank is not suitable for shrimp etc. It is completely watertight! Has lip around top to hold condensation tray or you could use glass sliders as a hood if preferred.
STAND
Not sure who this is made by as I got it with the tank. Definitely a tank stand though, not a wobbly flatpack bookcase or similar! Sturdy, fits tank well, black. A bit tatty round the edges, you could probably tart this up with a quick sand and paint job if it bothered you. Proper aquarium pressure mat between tank and stand included.
HOOD
Comes with a clearseal black metal hood with flaps front and back, and a condensation tray.
FILTERS
There are two internal filters running on this tank, a small no-brand one and a fairly new (6 months?) Fluval 2+. Both running on mature media so no problems cycling the tank when you set it up at home.
LIGHTS
Hood has two tube lights in - neither are working since a fish sitter left the condensation tray open two weeks ago and they seem to have shorted. I do not know whether you just need new bulbs, or new units altogether. I can't afford to replace these and consequently the plants have suffered a little - see below.
There is also a very nice set of LED blue moonlights which is still working fine. I bought these off ebay for about £15 and they are great. Each bulb is sealed. You can adjust the brightness of these lights.
AIRPUMP
I have now removed the super-powerful airpump shown in this photo but you are more than welcome to take it and the various bits of tube, airstones etc if you would like to recreate the effect! My old guppies loved it but the balloon molly was getting too buffeted - probably not suitable for more delicate fishies!
PLANTS
The tank is planted with a random array of not-too-healthy plants including java moss, various crypts, loads of unidentified plants that have been there since I got the tank. These will probably recover nicely with a new light! Have had most for ages. The artificial log shown in this photo is no longer available but the large twisty tree-root set up is. I have allowed this to get very overgrown with algae etc & tied in bits of java moss so it now looks very natural and cool! This would cost at least £20 new.
GRAVEL
Multicoloured, but mainly natural colours with the odd bit of red and blue. Although this probably won't suit purists it is a long way off from the neon gravels you often see!
FISH
There is currently a large colony of platies in the tank - whoever takes the tank takes the platies (although if you want platies separately PM me) also one balloon molly (female) and I imagine a fair number of MTS although I have been removing these for last few months and now not too many left around.
The tank needs a little TLC - new lights and a tidy up of the plants would do wonders but I really don't have the time or the money to get it back into top condition. It would make a fab complete set up for anyone looking to start up in the hobby or expand their current collection.
You will need to bring a couple of buckets and bags with you - I should be able to help you with catching the fish etc but NOT lifting or carrying. The whole set up should fit into a normal car especially if your seats fold down, if you need precise measurements of stand etc PM me. I got it all here in a Ford Escort no problem.
I will have a dig through the fish cupboard and see what other extras we have to give away too - more plastic plants, extra air stones, bits of rock etc.
