Description:
Chaetomorpha
(also called Chaeto, Spaghetti Algae or Green Hair Algae)
This is an excellent method of reducing harmful nitrates and phosphates from your marine tank.
You will receive a good handful of algae with a small amount of water weighing about 100g, within the algae you may get copepods, amphipods, Briistle worms etc....
Once settled into your tank or sump/refugium this will grow at an astonishing rate, reducing unwanted slime algae as it does! It will grow under most light conditions from a domestic low energy light bulb upwards, but the higher the lighting the faster it will grow.Chaeto is safer to grow that caulerpa as it does not require 24hrs/day lighting and will not go asexual - dying off and causing your tank to crash. It isn't eaten by most herbivorous species, so will need harvesting - this is how you remove the nitrates/phosphates from your system.
